Churches sometimes have their own archives or libraries. The same applies to hospitals and businesses. Access to these private and often times restricted collections may be difficult.

Some churches, hospitals, and businesses may not have an employee who can stop work to find the records you need. However, it is always worth asking.

Help Me! Where can I find the archives of the Methodist Church (or the Baptist Church, or the Catholic Church, or any other religious organization)?

Help Me!  Does the Santa Monica Hospital in California (or some other place) have patient records that I can see?

Help Me!  My father worked for the Burlington Railroad (or helped build the Erie Canal, or some other business), do they have employment records?
